Stutsman County Soil Conservation District

 

Information and Education

Each year the Stutsman SCD and NRCS personnel are involved in many educational endeavors including Eco-Ed Day, informational seminars and tours.  They have hosted no-till tours, range tours and feedlot tours among many others.  These tours highlight area producers and the innovative ideas they incorporate into their farming and ranching programs.

Each fall the Stutsman County SCD hosts the North Dakota Eco-Ed program designed to educate sixth graders from all around the county in Natural Resources. They coordinate facilitators for the following stations: Prairie, Soils, Woodlands, Wetlands, Watersheds and Water Quality, and Local History.

The Eco Ed Program in Stutsman County is a one day tour that helps students learn how their every day actions affect the environment.  Through their participation, students can learn to develop a sense of environmental stewardship and heighten awareness of environmental quality in their communities.

The event is held at Pipestem Dam north of Jamestown with facilitators provided by:
